20 etichette italiane tra i 100 migliori vini del 2022 per Wine Spectator
ITALIA – 20 ETICHETTE PREMIATE
Tantissima Toscana, tanto Piemonte ed altre etichette sparse in diverse regioni italiane: considerando che un quinto della classifica totale dei “Top 100 Wines 2022” di Wine Spectator vede i nostri colori sventolare, si può dire che sia stata una “sessione” proficua.
Chi sicuramente esce con un sorriso a 32 denti è la Toscana, capace di portare a casa ben 8 etichette diverse tra quelle premiate. Addirittura il Brunello di Montalcino Riserva del 2016 (annata considerata tra le più straordinarie di sempre per la famosa DOCG) di Fattoria dei Barbi si piazza sul secondo gradino del podio in assoluto. Il primo Supertuscan in classifica invece lo troviamo al quinto posto, con l’annata 2019 del Tignanello di Antinori, mentre sempre in top-10 troviamo un altro prodotto Made in Toscana: il “Saffredi” 2019 di Fattoria Le Pupille – dal taglio bordolese.
I successivi tre prodotti italiani in classifica si dividono sempre tra la Toscana, precisamente tra tre delle zone più vocate al mondo per la viticoltura: Bolgheri (con il Bolgheri Superiore 2019 di Grattamacco al 12° posto), Chianti Classico (al 22° posto con il Riserva 2018 di Capraia e al 24° con il Chianti Classico 2020 di San Felice) e Montepulciano (al 31° posto il Vino Nobile Riserva 2016 di Boscarelli).
Alla posizione 40 troviamo invece il primo dei 5 vini piemontesi premiati, ovvero il “Muncagota” Riserva 2017 dei Produttori del Barbaresco. Quattro posizioni più sotto si trova l’unico rappresentante friulano, ovvero il Pinot Grigio del Collio 2020 di Livio Felluga, mentre l’ultimo tra gli italiani in top 50 (alla 49° posizione) è l’unico prodotto lucano della lista, ovvero l’Aglianico del Vulture 2019 di D’Angelo.
Al 55° posto si piazza l’ultimo alfiere dell’enologia toscana in classifica, ovvero il Brunello di Montalcino 2017 di Col d’Orcia, il quale precede di tre posizione l’unica etichetta veneta premiata quest’anno, ovvero il Soave Classico 2020 di Suavia. Al 61° posto si colloca il Barbera d’Asti 2020 di Damilano, superando di sole due lunghezze il Susumaniello Askos 2020 della Masseria Li Veli (unica etichetta pugliese premiata tra i cento migliori del 2022).
Nell’ultima parte della classifica troviamo altri tre prodotti piemontesi, rispettivamente: il Nebbiolo Langhe Botti 2021 di Pecchenino (73° posto), il Barolo Serralunga d’Alba 2018 di Fontanafredda (78°) ed il Barolo Ravera Vigna Elena Riserva 2016 di Elvio Cogno (96°).
Completano il quadro l’unico siciliano della lista, il Noto Rosso 2020 di Zisola, e due etichette campane, rispettivamente all’80° ed all’84° posto: il Falanghina 2021 di San Salvatore ed il Taurasi Radici 2017 Mastroberardino.
Insomma, 8 toscani, 5 piemontesi, 2 campani, 1 pugliese, 1 lucano, 1 friulano, 1 veneto ed 1 siciliano, portando quindi ad 8 le regioni italiani rappresentate nella top-100 di Wine Spectator. Di seguito, ecco la classifica comprendente solo le etichette italiane:

E per quanto riguarda il resto?
A vincere l’ambito premio di migliore vino del mondo è stato il californiano “Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Double Diamond” 2019 di Schrader Cellars, con la Napa Valley che apre e chiude il podio con il terzo posto dello Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard 2019 di HdV.
Il primo francese premiato è il St. Julien 2019 di Château Talbot (zona di Bordeaux), mentre al sesto posto c’è un altro Made in California: il Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville The Estates 2019 di Robert Mondavi. Settimo posto per un altro transalpino: il Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2019 di Château de Beaucastel. Nono posto invece per un altro americano, ma questa volta ci spostiamo più a nord verso lo stato di Washington: il Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2018 di Quilceda Creek. Chiude la top-10 uno degli Champagne più famosi e bramati al mondo: il Cristal 2014 di Louis Roederer.

Premettendo che dico questo senza voler fare alcuna polemica, trovo alquanto atipico il fatto che tra i 100 migliori vini del mondo votati da Wine Spectator, ben 32 siano americani. Che la viticoltura statunitense sia cresciuta e migliorata moltissimo negli ultimi 20 anni è fuori discussione, ma che sovrasti in questo modo quella nostrana (con 20 premiati) ed addirittura quella francese (con 17 premiati) mi lascia comunque perplesso, così come la pochissima presenza di altri giganti come i vini della Mosella (davvero pochi quelli premiati) ed alcuni grandi vini come quelli del Tokaji (dolci) e quell libanesi (tra i migliori del Medio Oriente, rappresentato qui solo dall’Israele con una etichetta).
